25th October 2011 : Working Closely with the Olympics Authorities
As you already know the Military and Flying Machines 2012 show is listed as a “parallel event” to the 2012 Olympics, however, being so close to the Olympics does have some drawbacks... The event lies within the area deemed by the Authorities as “Restricted Olympic Airspace”. While there will be an air display during the show it may be we have to abide by specific restrictions applied to us in the interests of the Olympic games security. This might mean we have to reassess what we are able to do and the aircraft we can display. We are working with the authorities who are being most supportive of our event and requirements. We will be having an air display and fully anticipate the presence of the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight and of course the Iconic Spitfire, but we cannot confirm exactly what until closer to the time.
More details will be announced on this page as soon as we have them.
